KEX Kids Fund

The KEX Kids Fund is a non-profit organization that provides students with free comprehensive eye exams, eyeglasses and/or hearing aids. For over 20 years, the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation has collaborated with the 1190 AM radio station’s KEX Kids Fund by managing support for their vision program.

The Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation collaborates with the KEX Kids Fund in providing support for the operational aspects of the KEX Kids Fund. We work closely with a network of committed providers, school staff and volunteers. Funded through KEX 1190 AM radio and by an annual pledge drive held each Thanksgiving, the KEX Kids Fund is also made possible by the generous contributions of over 100 participating vision professionals.

KEX Kids Fund is reserved for children under the age of 21, enrolled in school, that do not have vision insurance and live at or below the 200% poverty level. All children in Oregon qualify for exams and eyeglasses through their private insurance or OHP. Please check with your vision insurance before accessing this program. Insurance will sometimes cover a replacement pair if lost or broken as long as it was not done out of negligence. If in the event that your child has exhausted their insurance or your family cannot afford the copays, KEX may be able to help!

How to Access This Program

If your child is enrolled in school and think they may qualify for KEX, please reach out to the school nurse or counselor as they should have the necessary tools to walk you through the application process. If your child is not enrolled in school, please e-mail us at KEX@olshf.org to learn more.

For school liaisons, please fill out this password protected online application for any of your students that you find may qualify.
